I’m officially another year older. I ate cake, macaroons and ice cream and took a break from cooking which is kinda nice when it’s your birthday weekend. We’ve been working arduously on our backyard trying to create a relaxing edible garden. I’m hoping to all comes through before May ends so we can have some time to enjoy it while the weather remains warm.
This year also marks the 150th year for Guittard Chocolate and they’ve created a special Eureka blend to commemerate the occasion. They asked a couple of chefs from across the country to make something with their new chocolate and I of course, went with ice cream. A deep rich fruity version with spiced fruit and nuts because the original Eureka blend reminded me of a fruit and nut bar I loved to eat as a kid. You can get the recipe here and also find recipes by Alice Medrich, Vallery Lomas, Miro Uskokovic and many more people on the website.
As a I mentioned last week, I cooked with the gracious and most lovely Nigella Lawson who was in town on her book tour. You can read all about it and watch the video here where we make her famous Turkish eggs from her new book AT MY TABLE.
Happy cooking, folks!
